Thoughts from the Head

Last Minute Gifts to Consider

I’d like to share some last minute gift ideas to consider as you wrap up your gift giving this season. Consider giving one of the following gifts that could strengthen your relationship with your child, your child’s development as “a caring community citizen” and/or benefit the TMA Community. You might consider…

  • Giving those you love the gift of "you" - your time, undivided attention, and conversation uninterrupted by screen time, aka MBST (Mind, Body, and Soul Time).
  • Giving your child the gift of encouragement rather than praise to strengthen your child’s intrinsic motivation. Amy McCready of Positive Parenting Solutions has a list of 27 Encouraging Words and Phrases for you to try over the holiday break.
  • Giving your child a gift of cash that he or she can use to bless someone else during the year. This has been a tradition in my family for years and it’s always wonderful to hear the stories of blessings. It’s a great tradition to begin at any age!
  • Giving a gift or making a donation in your child’s honor to a nonprofit of your or your child’s choice.

Wishing you a holiday season filled with family, friends, and peace! See you in 2019!

The Event

The Event is around the corner!

The Event is our annual fundraiser where our community gathers together to enjoy a night out with entertainment, classroom projects, and social engagement. The Event is planned, organized, and run by TMA families with limited involvement from TMA staff. Nicole Blanco has volunteered to lead the planning of this event, but she will need many parents to help with this enormous task.

Volunteering to help with these events is a great way to earn your Community Service hours. If you would like to help, please send a message expressing your interest and include the type of work you enjoy so the planning can commence as soon as possible. The earlier the planning begins, the easier it will be!

Medication Reminders

Medication Reminders

We want to remind you about our policies regarding administering medication at school, details of which can be found on pages 58-61 in the Family Guide.

All prescription or OTC medications are required to be brought to the front desk with a completed Authorization for Administration of Medication form. Front office personnel will enter it into our database and take it to the classroom for the teacher to administer. DO NOT SEND ANY MEDICATION IN YOUR CHILD'S BACKPACK. This includes lip balm, hand sanitizer, or any product that is labeled with, "Keep out of reach of children." Please complete the Authorization for Administration of Medication form and drop it by the front office for these products also.

We have begun a new process of logging each dose in our system and sending a confirmation email to parents. This is a new system, so if you do not receive an email at the time your child was scheduled to receive a dose, please bear with us; it will not be instantaneous. If you have any questions, please feel free to stop by the front desk, call, or email us.

Reviews Needed

Review TMA and Earn Community Service Hours

Community Service hours are due by December 13! One way to earn hours is to share your perspective about TMA on local sites by clicking on the links below:

You can log one hour of Community Service for each of your reviews. YES, REALLY! You may not realize it, but reviews impact how Google lists our school and how close we are to the top on search results. The more reviews we have, the closer to the top we will get. So please, let the world know how much you love TMA!
