2019 Spelling Bee

Congratulations to all of the elementary students for working hard to prepare and conquer the Spelling Bee this week. We have some great spellers! Since this is an event parents cannot attend, Ashley created this wonderful overview. Congrats to our winner Nicholas Smith and runner up Maya Witzel.

Thoughts from the Head

TMA Connections Run Deep

Do you remember your senior year of high school, a year filled with celebratory events, decisions about college, and a range of emotions? Did you take time to reconnect with your friends from your elementary school years? I certainly didn’t, but graduating seniors who attended TMA did over winter break. One of the graduates decided to host an “alumni” event in her home and all but a couple of the former students attended.

Five of those who attended are children of current TMA Board members, Pule Calderon and Kim White, and TMA staff members, Robin Dotson, Letty Marquez, and Jennifer Williams. Interesting comments shared with these parents included, "the alums all immediately clicked again,” many were planning to major in “ologies,” one person is pursuing musical theater, and everyone else is majoring in a STEM-related field.

Connection among TMA alums and their families has been an ongoing and recurring theme during my tenure at TMA and one I’ve also experienced with my personal children. I view it as a great return on investment of the gift of a Montessori education that we are giving “our” children and hope you do as well.

Changes are coming!

RenWeb is now FACTS

The company who provides the software we use for our student database, RenWeb, has merged with another company, FACTS Management, and now has been rebranded as FACTS. With this merger, the new company will provide new online billing tools which we will utilize beginning with all transactions related to the 2019-20 school year. We will continue to use our current billing system for all payments for the remainder of the 2018-19 school year.

New Functionality

  • 24/7 access to online statements
  • Ability to make payments online
  • Ability to print statements for tax purposes
  • Costs can easily be split among multiple payers on a percentage basis
  • Tuition will be billed separately from other expenses such as Extended Day and Community Service fees, so you will receive 2 bills.
  • You can choose to pay on the 1st or the 10th of each month, or both, paying tuition on one date and other expenses on the other date.
  • Secure system for paying by automatic bank draft or debit/credit card (2.85% fee charged for all debit or credit card payments). No more having to drop off checks at the school!

These are a few of the changes you will see when re-enrolling for the 2019-20 school year. More detailed information will be provided as we approach our re-enrollment period. As always, if you have any questions, please contact us and we would be happy to help!
